AI for Accessible Websites
Tallence AG and Zittau/Görlitz University are developing a scalable solution to improve digital accessibility

Hamburg, April 27, 2026. Tallence AG, in collaboration with Zittau/Görlitz University, is introducing a new AI-based solution that enables companies to continuously and comprehensively assess the digital accessibility of their websites at the push of a button. Developed as part of a research project, the application automatically identifies compliance issues related to accessibility standards, provides concrete recommendations for improvement, and delivers corrected code. The solution is embedded directly into the web application development process.
“Ensuring accessibility on the internet is now a categorical imperative that has been enshrined in legislation. For us, it is a matter close to our hearts to enable people with disabilities to have full access to information and applications. With our AI solution, website operators can automatically audit their sites and apps. They receive concrete implementation recommendations directly within the code, which they can apply immediately,” says Michael Gniffke, Delivery Director at Tallence AG.
The German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) has required a large number of companies since June 2025 to design their digital offerings to be accessible, ensuring equal access for users with visual impairments, blindness, color vision deficiencies, as well as older people. This creates a clear need for action for companies - particularly to avoid legal consequences.
However, many organizations face the challenge of implementing accessibility efficiently while not slowing down development processes. Both aspects are now combined in Tallence’s AI solution, which is already market-ready. It is aimed at website operators, agencies, and hosting providers. The latter could offer the tool directly when purchasing a website, ensuring accessibility from the outset. Automated audits save time, reduce manual testing efforts, and increase legal certainty.
Research collaboration with Zittau/Görlitz University
The solution was developed as part of a research project in close collaboration between Zittau/Görlitz University and Tallence AG. Together, the partners pursued the goal of creating a practical solution that companies can directly apply. The collaboration combines academic expertise in accessibility standards with Tallence’s long-standing experience in web development and consulting.
