Enabling the agentic Telco

Creating a shared operational understanding across network and business

This article is published in English to reflect the international nature of telco operations. The challenges around OSS, BSS, and AI-driven operations are global – and so are the lessons shared here.

Bridging OSS and BSS with Knowledge Graphs

Telcos have long struggled with a fundamental disconnect:

OSS teams see congestion, latency, and packet loss, while BSS teams see unhappy customers, tickets, and churn risk. Both sides operate on partial truths, leading to reactive operations, slow resolution times, and missed business opportunities. This separation creates a blind spot where network issues and customer impact are treated as unrelated problems.

Tallence addresses this challenge with a Telco Knowledge Graph approach that acts as a unified “brain” across operations and business. Instead of replacing existing OSS and BSS systems, we connect them. Data from customers, devices, services, locations, network resources, and historical events is mapped into a living knowledge graph that reflects how these elements relate in reality.

By layering a knowledge graph on top of current systems, telcos can move faster than with large-scale migrations. Existing OSS and BSS remain the systems of record, while the graph becomes the system of understanding: a semantic layer that links network conditions directly to customer experience and business outcomes.

Why Knowledge Graphs for Telcos

The Tallence Knowledge Graph provide three decisive advantages for telcos.

First, they enable contextual intelligence: instead of reacting to isolated alarms or tickets, organizations understand the full narrative behind an issue, including which users, devices, locations, and services are jointly affected.

Second, they are naturally aligned with AI and large language models: allowing operators to query complex operational states in plain language and deploy AI agents that reason over real network context.

Third, they are explainable by design: every insight or recommendation can be traced along visible relationships in the graph, supporting trust, governance, and regulatory requirements.

From Reactive to Proactive Operations

With a Tallence´s unified knowledge graph, telcos can shift from reactive troubleshooting to proactive and predictive operations. Patterns in the graph reveal likely incidents before they occur, enable just-in-time resource allocation, and support automated optimization of quality of service. The same graph empowers intelligent customer care and targeted commercial actions by linking network performance directly to user behavior and demand patterns.

Tallence Service Offering

Tallence helps telcos implement this approach pragmatically. We work with existing OSS and BSS landscapes, map relevant data into a TM-Forum-aligned knowledge graph, and deliver concrete decision-support use cases without forcing disruptive system migrations. The result is faster insight, lower operational friction, and a foundation for AI-driven, proactive networks. Tallence helps turning fragmented data into a shared operational understanding across the organization.
